Pirates catcher Brian McCann put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. McCann was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Pittsburgh in the contest. Pittsburgh reliever Will Harris got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Edward Mujica was tagged with the loss. Pittsburgh, at 76-57, sits in second place in the NL Central Division.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, McCann hit a fastball from Edward Mujica for a run-scoring single. The Pirates, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McCann told the Pittsburgh Times.
