Mets Continue Skid, Thanks to Biggio, Astros
|
Houston first baseman Cavan Biggio was instrumental in helping the Astros triumph, 7-1, over the New York Mets. Biggio hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Zac Gallen got the win, improving to 6-10. He held the Mets to 1 run on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 11 and walking 1. New York has now lost 4 in a row.
Houston used the hitting of David Freitas to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Astros on top, 2-0. For the game, Freitas had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Astros manager , "I like our chances."
