Houston and New York duked it out and the Astros came out victorious.

The Houston Astros overcame a pretty good performance by New York left fielder Gavin Lux, beating the Mets, 9-6, at Shea Stadium 1979-2008. Lux was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs. Eric O'Flaherty picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Derek Holland suffered the loss.

In the top of the third, Houston left fielder Kyle Schwarber had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Schwarber stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 4-1, Houston. For the game, he went 1-5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We got the victory," said Schwarber. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

With the win, the Astros sit at 66-58.
