Dodgers Collect 7-4 Win Versus Philadelphia
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park 2004-2005, knocking off the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-4. Starting pitcher Tarik Skubal played a key role in the triumph. Skubal, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Steve Cishek recorded the save, his 6th.
Yordan Alvarez had a big 2-run home run for the Dodgers in the top of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Kolby Allard and punished it. The result was his 37th home run of the season, which put the Dodgers on top, 3-0.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
The Dodgers, now 51-70, have won 4 in a row.
