Astros Slip Past St. Louis, 7-6
|
The Houston Astros downed the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-6, in 10 innings at Busch Stadium 1997-2005. Kyle Schwarber led the way, going 2-for-3 for Houston. Houston reliever Chad Green picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Edward Mujica absorbed the loss. The win puts the Astros at 40-54, while the Cardinals drop to 56-38.
Javier Baez came through with a big-time hit for Houston. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Schwarber told the Houston Daily.
