Mets Win at Home, 6-2
|
New York pitcher Luis Severino did his part in helping his team defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Severino picked up the win for New York, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-4. James Karinchak nailed down his 1st save.
The Mets got a big at-bat from first baseman Albert Pujols. For the game, Pujols went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave New York a 1-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Pujols.
The Brewers, now 43-49, have lost 4 straight.
