Cabrera 3-for-4, Leads Pirates to Win
At PNC Park, the Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Pittsburgh third baseman Everth Cabrera helped his team beat the Colorado Rockies, 9-4. Cabrera, who is tied for 9th in the NL in triples with 3, went 3 for 4 for the Pirates. Luiz Gohara got the win, improving to 8-2. He held the Rockies to 4 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2.

With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Cabrera hit a fastball from Jake Odorizzi for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 5-0.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Cabrera. "I just want to win ballgames."

The victory gives Pittsburgh a record of 47-42.
