With 6-3 Win, Astros Go to 61-27
|
Houston and New York duked it out and the Astros came out victorious.
The Houston Astros beat the New York Mets, 6-3. Houston pitcher and Hickory, North Carolina, native Madison Bumgarner led the way. Bumgarner got the win, improving to 15-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Bumgarner allowed 3 runs. The save went to Trevor Rosenthal, his 21st this season.
In the bottom of the third inning, second baseman Yunel Escobar came through big-time for the Astros. With Houston trailing 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
Escobar said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
