Velasquez Guns Downs 15 Expos
Vince Velasquez of the Milwaukee Brewers put on a pitching clinic at Miller Park, as he struck out 15 Montreal Expos in a 11-0 victory. Velasquez, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a 1.08 WHIP, was simply magnificent, holding the Expos to 1 hit. He walked 1.

"I felt okay at the beginning," Velasquez said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."

When asked about Velasquez's performance, Brewers manager shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."

Currently Velasquez has a 7-4 won-lost record in 14 starts with a 3.18 ERA. He also has 84 strikeouts in 79.1 innings.
