Giants Snatch Late Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets.
The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Shea Stadium 1979-2008, downing the New York Mets, 5-3. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Kyle Hendricks, who played a pivotal role in the win. Hendricks, who leads the NL in complete games with 3, went the distance for San Francisco. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Pablo Sandoval? The four-time MVP Award winner Sandoval stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put San Francisco up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I like our moxie," said Giants manager .
The San Francisco win streak is now 3 games.
