Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets.

New York had no answer for Chicago Cubs hurler Johnny Cueto, who overwhelmed Mets hitters as the Cubs coasted to victory, 12-0. Cueto, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks.

Chicago got a big at-bat from The United States native Dustin Ackley, who in the top of the fourth hit a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 9-0.

New York manager Ethan Smith called the blowout loss "undesirable."

The win lifted the Chicago record to 29-28.
