The Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners, 6-3, in AL action at Safeco Field 1999-2012. Texas pitcher Justin Verlander had a standout performance. Picking up the save was Sean Doolittle, his 1st. Texas goes to 12-6 with the win.

Texas used a clutch at-bat from Mike Trout to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Feels good to get the job done," Trout said after the game.
