Athletics Tagged with 6-2 Loss
|
Toronto got a strong outing from Stephen Strasburg as the Blue Jays defeated the Oakland Athletics, 6-2, at SkyDome 1989-2015. Strasburg, now 7-15, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 10, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The win puts Toronto at 63-97.
Toronto third baseman Jurickson Profar contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 114th hit of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 5-2.
"Stephen -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Blue Jays manager Jared Smith. "He was the key to us winning."
