Twins Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Minnesota Twins and the Baltimore Orioles, Kenta Maeda, who is on pace for 212 strikeouts this season, proved to be the difference. The Minnesota right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Twins win. Minnesota pitcher David Paulino got the win. He's now 4-6. Tanner Scott was tagged with the loss. The win makes Minnesota 69-91.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Minnesota second baseman Jimmy Paredes, facing Tanner Scott, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Twins the 2-1 win.
"This game tested our mettle," said Paredes.
