The Boston Red Sox claimed a close win over the Minnesota Twins, due in large part to Tommy Milone. The Boston left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. The loss drops the Twins to 10-8.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Red Sox had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when catcher Alex Avila hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Brandon Webb and made the score 2-1, Red Sox. Avila was 1 for 2 with a walk.

Boston manager Jonathan Sanders praised his team's "businesslike approach."
