Rangers Come Back Late to Top Indians, 8-6
|
Charlie Blackmon did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cleveland Indians from being beaten, 8-6, to the Texas Rangers at The Ballpark in Arlington 1994-2011. Blackmon was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Getting the save was Sean Doolittle, his 5th. The Rangers, now 13-4, have been red hot.
In the bottom of the eighth, Texas second baseman Didi Gregorius gave his team the lead. With no one out and the bases loaded, Sir Didi hit his 5th double of the year. Cleveland pitcher Tony Cingrani surrendered it. With that, the Rangers jumped in front, 8-6.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gregorius.
