Texas Defeated By Diamondbacks, 8-2
|
Arizona pitcher Anthony DeSclafani had a large part in his team subduing the Texas Rangers, 8-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. DeSclafani picked up the win for Arizona, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-11. With the win, Arizona pushed its record to 79-70.
Orlando Arcia had a big solo home run for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Arizona leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from top prospect Nick Pivetta and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Diamondbacks on top, 3-1.
"Anthony pitched his heart out," said Arizona manager waittilnextyear Smith.
