PECOS Awards Most Valuable Player Award, Kim Gets Prize

Kang-keun Kim took Pecos League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 25.

For his spectacular campaign, the Roswell Invaders star has been named the 2059 Pecos League Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the first baseman.

On the season he compiled a .374 batting average to go with a .514 on-base percentage. The native of Busan, South Korea also added 11 doubles, no triples, 24 home runs, 55 RBIs and 50 runs scored.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 14. Josh Collins of the Pittsburg Anchors finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Eric Girvan of the Trinidad Triggers finished third.
