5-for-7 Game for Karani
Wednesday, August 27th , 2059
Adergazuz Karani knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At 89ers Stadium, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 24-year-old shortstop hammered 5 hits in 7 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Stilfontein Millers fell, 9-8, to the Port Alfred 89ers.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," 89ers manager told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Karani wasn't the difference."
Adergazuz Karani hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and flied out in the 13th.
During the current season Karani is batting at a .294 clip with 7 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 100 games and scored 25 times.
