Byrd Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, July 7th , 2058 The number just keeps getting higher. Philadelphia (GCL) catcher Chris Byrd has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 3 at-bats as the Philadelphia (GCL) won the game, 3-2, over the New York A (GCL) Yankees at Field of the Pipeliners. "Who knows how long it will go on?" New York A (GCL) manager said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Chris Byrd flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This season, Byrd is hitting .441 with 2 home runs. |
