Mower Goes on Rampage Against Mariners
Saturday, July 19th , 2059
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Josh Mower, it came around today.
The 19-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Peoria Sports Complex to pace the 17-6 San Francisco (AZL) Giants victory over the Seattle (AZL) Mariners.
Seattle (AZL) skipper told reporters in the press room that "Mower deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Mower hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Josh Mower walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Mower has hit 2 home runs and posted a .358 batting average.
