Cordero Sizzles -- Smokes Dust Devils for 5 Hits Saturday, July 6th , 2058 Boise third baseman Marco Cordero had a big day at Memorial Stadium against the Tri-City Dust Devils. The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 14-1 Hawks triumph over Tri-City. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Cordero said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Marco Cordero singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
