Jeff Snell Named NWL's Best Player
Sunday, September 28th , 2059
At the age of 20, Jeff Snell of the Olympia Angels could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2059 was good enough to win the second baseman the Northwest League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .405 batting average this year, as well as a .513 on-base percentage. He played 62 games and racked up 89 hits, 15 doubles, 2 triples, 10 home runs, 54 RBIs and 55 runs scored.
He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 30. Jake Townsend of the Surrey Twins finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Juan Herrera of the Olympia Angels finished third.
