Sunday, September 28th , 2059
He may have less experience than most of his Short Season A Baseball peers, but that didn't slow Joe Harrison down at all in 2059.
At the age of 22, the Aberdeen third baseman has been named the winner of the New York-Penn League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .454 batting average and a .574 on-base percentage this year. In 58 games he piled up 89 hits, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 10 home runs, 43 RBIs and 59 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 30. Jon Estes of the Albany White Sox finished second in voting, while Josh Cooper of the Aberdeen Ironbirds finished third.
