John Zimmerman joined an elite group of pitchers today by picking up the Pacific Coast League Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2055.

The 26-year-old hurler finished the year 11-6 for the Sacramento River Cats, piling up 160 innings, registering 67 strikeouts and walking 42 on his way to a solid 2.76 ERA.

He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 30. David Fernandez of the Sacramento River Cats finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Steve Aragazzi of the Sacramento River Cats finished third with 9 first place votes.
