Year Ends for Alex Gonzales in Aguascalientes
Tuesday, July 23rd , 2058
When Alex Gonzales was hurt against the Oaxaca Guerreros, the Aguascalientes Rieleros were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 31-year-old closer suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Gonzales would miss 7 months of the season.
Gonzales has 10 saves this year. In 30 relief appearances he has tossed 26.2 innings, fanned 15, and given up 14 walks with a 2-5 record. The Aguascalientes reliever has recorded a 3.38 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .276 when he is on the mound.
