The Tacoma Rainiers knocked off the San Antonio Missions, 7-1, at Cheney Stadium. Ian Zufelt was a big reason Tacoma won. The left fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Alan Darilek, who is tied for 3rd in the PCL in saves with 25, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-5. Tacoma is first in the Pacific Coast League North Division with a record of 78-59.
Manny Christman, who is tied for 3rd in the PCL in extra base hits with 35, chipped in a 2-run home run for Tacoma in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
