Valerino Lifts Bees to 6-4 Triumph
|
Bees right fielder Ian Valerino left his imprint on his team's 6-4 win over the Tacoma Rainiers. Valerino was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Salt Lake in the contest. Salt Lake pitcher Jesse Moraine got the win. He's now 1-0. Frank de la Torre was tagged with the loss. Dan Markham picked up his 10th save of the season.
Salt Lake first baseman Josh Sheehy contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 43rd hit of the season and put the Bees ahead, 4-2.
Salt Lake manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
After today's action, Salt Lake sits at 93-39; Tacoma slips to 65-67.
