River Cats Win Nail-Biter in 10
|
Sacramento starter Dan Lowe pitched well against the Wichita Wind Surge at Riverfront Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 10 innings. The save was credited to Johnny Ediger, his 1st. The River Cats, at 65-70, sit in 4th place in the Pacific Coast League North Division.
Sacramento used the timely hitting of Chris Afonso to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the River Cats on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It was terrific getting this win," Lowe said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
