Rainiers Beat River Cats, 8-2
|
Tacoma and Sacramento took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Mr. Brownfield was a major factor in the 8-2 Tacoma win over Sacramento. The Rainiers first baseman went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ben DeLapp was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Danny Dressel, the Tacoma third baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 5-2, Rainiers. For the game, Dressel was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager .
The Rainiers saw their win-loss record go to 56-58. At the same time, the River Cats fell to 55-59.
