Extra-Inning Win by River Cats Over Missions
|
Sacramento left fielder Dan Fieber collected 4 ribbies while his team bumped off the San Antonio Missions, 8-7, in 11 innings. Eddie Collett, who is tied for 10th in the PCL in holds with 8, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-6. The losing pitcher was Joe Kravetz. Sacramento leads the Pacific Coast League North Division by 5½ games.
The River Cats got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Jeff Petty. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the River Cats.
"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Fieber. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
