Rees Helps Flying Tigers Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Lakeland Flying Tigers stopped the Daytona Tortugas, 3-2, behind an impressive performance from Gabe Rees. The 24-year old center fielder made life miserable for Daytona pitching. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Daytona has now lost 5 straight.
Lakeland grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Rees hit a run-scoring double off Josh Pretz. His 4th double of the season put the Flying Tigers out in front, 3-2.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Rees.
