The St. Lucie Mets defeated the Daytona Tortugas, 9-7, at Clover Park. Eric Miller was a standout performer for St. Lucie. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 5 he knocked in. Danny Berger, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Chris Zimmer notched his 11th save of the season.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Randy Humphreys came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Daytona pitcher Marcerio Cornwell, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting St. Lucie on top, 8-7.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Humphreys said after the game.

The Mets go to 45-66, putting them 4th in the FSL South.
