Florida Earns 7-6 Win
|
Florida beat Charlotte at CoolToday Park, escaping with a 7-6 win in 10 innings. The win in large part was due to pinch hitter Joe Lickteig. He was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Florida reliever Jeff Kindig picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Bobby Gingerich was saddled with the loss. With the win, Florida goes to 65-39, while the Stone Crabs fall to 35-69.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Florida third baseman Robby Moreno, facing Bobby Gingerich, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Fire Frogs the 7-6 win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant , the Florida skipper.
