Tarpons Keep Streak Alive With 4-2 Win
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Tampa Tarpons.
Tampa starter Manny Castillo pitched well against the Palm Beach Cardinals at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. The winner was Justin Brown in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Camren Drake took the loss. Getting the save was Gerald Baldwin, his 17th.
Tampa took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Ted Ray hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Tarpons in front, 3-2.
"It's great to be on a roll," said Castillo.
The Tarpons saw their win-loss record go to 37-19. At the same time, the Cardinals fell to 19-37.
