Eric Dodson had a good game, but he could not keep the Tampa Tarpons from falling, 4-3, to the St. Lucie Mets at Clover Park. The Tampa left fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 in the loss. Johnny Cahoone, 3-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. Chris Zimmer picked up the save for St. Lucie, his 8th of the year.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Mets designated hitter Jose Rosales hit a curveball from Jaheim Timmons for a 2-run single. Just like that, St. Lucie was up, 4-3.

Rosales attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."

St. Lucie currently is in third place in the FSL South at 21-25.
