Fire Frogs Zap Stone Crabs, 4-1
|
Danny de Leon never let Charlotte get something going. The Florida right-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Fire Frogs to a 4-1 win. In 5 innings, de Leon surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Jeff Kindig earned the save for Florida, his 3rd.
Julio Albino, who is tied for 9th in the FSL in stolen bases with 10, had a timely hit in the top of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Florida second baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Fire Frogs in front, 1-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Albino said.
Florida raised its record to 27-22 with the win.
