The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels got a superb performance from pitcher Danny Alarid. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Palm Beach. The Cardinals won the game, 2-0. Alarid threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Palm Beach reliever Jon Amaya got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Danny Alarid was tagged with the loss. Despite the win, the Cardinals have a lousy 12-25 record.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from left fielder Danny Castillo. For the game, Castillo went 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Palm Beach a 1-0 lead.

"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Castillo said.
