Big Day for Kim as Marauders Down Blue Jays, 9-1
|
The Bradenton Marauders defeated the Dunedin Blue Jays by the score of 9-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Hyun-shik Kim. Kim went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Marauders on the day. Angel Velasquez got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Blue Jays, now 4-11, continue their poor start.
The Marauders got a big boost from catcher Charlie Jewell who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Blue Jays hurler Chris O'Donnell. It was his 5th RBI of the season and put Bradenton on top, 1-0.
"What a lackluster performance," lamented losing manager .
