The Omaha Storm Chasers spoiled a good performance by Las Vegas shortstop Jose Loera, bumping off Las Vegas, 6-3, at Werner Park. Loera went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Geoffrey Garbie earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The loss makes Las Vegas 51-40.

Centreville, Virginia-born Andres Salgado came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Storm Chasers trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Omaha on top.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Storm Chasers manager .
