San Antonio Offense Jammed Up by Chihuahuas
|
In a low-scoring affair between the El Paso Chihuahuas and the San Antonio Missions, pitcher Greg Mustin was the difference between victory and defeat. The El Paso right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-0 Chihuahuas win. In 5.1 innings, Mustin surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Their 22-54 record puts the Chihuahuas last in the Pacific Coast League South Division.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the second inning, but Mustin was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and San Antonio trailing 2-0, Mustin retired Josh Cousins, who struck out.
