Sounds Win at Home, 1-0
|
The Nashville Sounds picked up a win at First Horizon Park, downing the San Antonio Missions, 1-0. On the mound for Nashville was left-hander Edgar Pena, who played a pivotal role in the win. Joe Mays earned the save for Nashville, his 6th of the year. The Sounds are now 31-42.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Sounds had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when second baseman Chad Horwath hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Alfredo Ovalle and made the score 1-0, Sounds. Horwath went 1 for 3.
"That's us at our best," Horwath told the Nashville Observer. "Pitching and trying to prevent runs."
