The Iowa Cubs stopped the Omaha Storm Chasers, 10-4, behind an impressive performance from Eric Cross. The 23-year old first baseman made life miserable for Omaha pitching. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6. The Cubs win now puts them at 28-31.

Cross contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Iowa in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Cross took a cutter from Steve Caiazzo and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Cubs to leap in front, 2-1.
