Round Rock Beats Reno, 5-4
|
Pat Ezell left his imprint on the 5-4 Round Rock win against the Reno Aces. Ezell, who is tied for 8th in the PCL in extra base hits with 14, was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Jimmy Burns, who threw 89 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. Willie Correa got credit for the save for Round Rock. It was his 8th of the year.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Brad Goodman? The 26-year old shortstop Goodman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Round Rock up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Round Rock manager said afterward.
The Express are now 19-30.
