Both offenses were relatively subdued at Southwest University park. Fortunately for the San Antonio Missions, though, Josh Cousins was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs, to lead his team past the El Paso Chihuahuas, 3-2. Mark Lucus earned the win for San Antonio. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 0. With the win, he raised his record to 1-4. Dan Jensen finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ricky Trujillo? The San Antonio left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Missions on top, 1-0. For the game, Trujillo had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Trujillo called the win "a team effort."
San Antonio is now 17-22.
