Behind a solid performance from right fielder Steve O'Brien, the Reno Aces defeated the Fresno Grizzlies, 4-3. O'Brien went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Aces. Reno is in 7th place in the Pacific Coast League North Division with a record of 16-22.

West Covina, California-born Ron Juers came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Aces trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right-center to put Reno on top.

O'Brien expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
