The Omaha Storm Chasers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Round Rock third baseman Jimmy Mellion by beating the Express, 5-2, at Dell Diamond. Mellion went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Storm Chasers saw their record improve to 16-16.

Jimmy Dunn came through with a big-time hit for Omaha. The designated hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Dunn called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
