The Fresno Grizzlies downed the Las Vegas Aviators, 8-3, the largest share of the credit belonging to left fielder Chris Blanton. On the day, Blanton went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies improved their record to 17-14 by beating Las Vegas.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Izzy Colon came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Las Vegas pitcher Josh Fischer, he hit a 2-2 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Fresno on top, 5-3.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Colon. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
