Tacoma left fielder Mort Perkins played a vital role in his team's 4-3 conquest of Oklahoma City. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Tacoma. Tacoma pitcher Bobby Buck got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Josh Smith got the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Tacoma was Daniel Hutchins.
Perkins had a timely hit for Tacoma in the bottom of the seventh. With Tacoma trailing 3-2, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Tacoma.
Perkins called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
