Cubs Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
The Chicago N (AZL) Cubs beat the Oakland (AZL) Athletics, 8-7, at Sloan Park. Chicago N (AZL) first baseman Ian Miles had an outstanding performance. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. With the victory, the Cubs record stands at 38-26.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 19-year old designated hitter Jon Thompson had a real shot to win the game. Oakland (AZL) pitcher Juan Sepeda was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Thompson hit a run-scoring single. The Cubs had a walk-off triumph.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Chicago N (AZL) manager .
